How to Put Love into Action
By Everly Pleasant
When you are longing to help a hurting friend or others are asking how they can help you, here are some practical ideas to come back to:
Take the Kids Out of the Mix
There are many situations when the blessing of children can quickly become an added stressor! During conflict, illness, loss, financial difficulty or a move, an offer to take the kids to the park or your own home (for free!) would be greatly appreciated.
A Deal of a Meal
Meals aren’t just for times of loss. Surprise a young mom at your church by asking what day of the week she’d like you to deliver a home-cooked dinner that she doesn’t have to prepare herself! It doesn’t have to be gourmet to be big blessing.
A Note of Encouragement
This gift is almost free to give and perhaps the most helpful of all. Everyone needs encouragement … everyone! And who doesn’t like personal mail among all those bills? Whether you know someone is feeling discouraged or not, it is never a bad time to lift someone’s spirits and remind them that they are loved!
